2008 We met at SERVE in Grand Rapids, of all places. Jane was Chris's group leader and she knows a good one when she sees one. :)
We both helped as translators during a food truck event that week and continued to volunteer at that same church later when we were both at Calvin.
2011 ArtPrize! We went downtown with some friends to see a local art festival. I whipped the camera around on Chris and we got this candid shot.
2012 Artprize again! By 2012 we were church buddies, had lots of friends in common, and could drop in on each other's apartments. We weren't dating when this picture was taken (actually, I think we were both dating other people), but dang, we sure looked like a couple.
2013 Osborne, KS. We had just started dating and realized that though we had been friends for a long time, there was a whole lot more to learn about each other.
2014 We had a year that gave us a glimpse of good times and bad, sickness and health. We have continually found that we're better as a team, though we both live well independently. We choose to invest in each other so that we can serve our neighbors better, which is exciting and life-giving!
